Assistant Principal's Message
Although our year may start a little different than we are used to due to the current circumstances of COVID19, I am looking forward to the 2020-2021 school year and feel extremely fortunate to be back here at Fulton as the assistant principal. I have been a part of the Fountain Valley School district for many years, first as a teacher, and now as an administrator. I treasure working with our community of remarkable students, families, and staff members.
I believe that strong partnerships with home and community are an essential building block to academic excellence and ensuring the best possible middle school experience for our students. Students whose parents are involved in their schooling are more likely to have higher grades and test scores, attend school regularly, have better social skills, show improved behavior, and adapt well to school. I encourage parents to sign up for School Loop, join our incredible PTA, and look for school updates via Parent Square and our monthly ASB calendars. Remember that we are partners and here for one common interest, doing what is best for our students!
To the students: it is a great idea to get involved as much as possible during your time here. Make the best of these three years, even during these unprecedented times. Enjoy your experiences exploring electives, attend office hours with your teachers, get involved in spirit weeks and ASB challenges, become a part of yearbook, cheer, or student council. Above all else, remember that the adults on campus are here for you and that we want to help however possible. Talk to your teachers and our staff members, stop by our school counselor’s office, or come visit me or Ms. Bains in the office. I promise my door will always be open to you.
On a personal note, I live in Ladera Ranch with my husband and daughter Madison. We are expecting a baby boy soon and couldn’t be more excited. My husband has been a part of education in SAUSD for over 15 years. Maddie, as we call her, is in fourth grade. She loves art, playing with our dog Harley, and riding her bike with friends. When we aren’t at home, we are camping, cycling, enjoying a day at the beach, or spending time with our friends and family. I am always up for a personal challenge, so if you ever want to share stories, you’ll have to ask me about the time I hiked the highest peak in the contiguous US or when I ran a 200-mile relay race in the Rocky Mountains.
I would love to meet all of you and begin getting to know the Falcon family even better. Please do not hesitate to stop by, say hello, and introduce yourself. I am deeply committed to working with the all of you, so please call upon me at any time with questions or concerns.
