Parent Volunteers
Volunteer Requirements
The Fountain Valley School District (FVSD) is committed to providing a safe school environment for our students and staff. As part of our commitment, a School Safety Task Force (SSTF) was convened to study and improve school safety. Effective January 1, 2020, volunteers will be categorized as Level One or Level Two volunteers, each with specific requirements.
Level One Volunteers
Level One volunteers work with a certificated staff member and perform less than five (5) hours of volunteer service per week.
Requirements:
- Provide proof of being free from tuberculosis (TB).
- Sign in through the Raptor visitor management system when volunteering.
- Display the site-issued badge while on campus.
Level Two Volunteers
Level Two volunteers perform more than five (5) hours of volunteer service per week, chaperone field trips, or may interact with students outside the presence of a certificated staff member.
Requirements:
- Provide proof of being free from tuberculosis (TB).
- Sign in through the Raptor visitor management system when volunteering.
- Display the site-issued badge while on campus.
- Obtain LiveScan fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Fingerprinting Information
LiveScan fingerprinting is a one-time requirement for Level Two volunteers. Once cleared, volunteers will not need to repeat the process as long as their children are enrolled in FVSD. If you are an FVSD employee, your employment-related LiveScan clearance satisfies this requirement.
Volunteers are responsible for covering the total cost of LiveScan fingerprinting and DOJ clearance, which may vary depending on the location.
